After several months of remodeling, Dunkin’ Donuts is opening nine Valley stores Friday, including eight in the East Valley. The chain is celebrating by offering customers a free medium coffee Friday through Aug. 21.
It also will hold a “Midnight Madness” preview 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday at its new store on the northeast corner of Stapley and Baseline roads in Mesa. Free food samples and prizes will be given away, and there will be a “Rock Band” competition on a 20-foot screen.
On Friday, Mesa mayor Scott Smith and the Phoenix Suns dancers will appear at 5 a.m. at the Stapley and Baseline store. Scottsdale mayor Mary Manross will serve customers from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Scottsdale and Shea store.
Other E.V. locations hosting festivities Friday are at University and Priest in Tempe, Hayden and Thomas in Scottsdale, McKellips and Power in Mesa, Lindsay and Warner in Gilbert, Alma School and Germann in Chandler and Power and Rittenhouse in Queen Creek.
Beside a new look, Dunkin’ Donuts is introducing new beverages and food items, including oven-toasted flatbread sandwiches. Info: dunkindonuts.com.
