Canal, the fashion-themed restaurant at SouthBridge in downtown Scottsdale, is starting a “TV dinner” promotion on Tuesday nights. Chef Justin Beckett will offer his takes on ’50s Swanson faves while Canal’s wall of projection screens televise black-and-white classics like “Giligan’s Island” and “Happy Days.”

Beckett’s reinterpretations include:

• Grandma’s meatloaf with panko fried Maui onion rings and morel mushroom pan gravy, green bean almandine, mashed potatoes and kaffir lime-lemon Jell-O;

• Filet mignon beef stroganoff with crème frâiche with watercress and pickled onion salad, parker-house rolls and apple cobbler;

• Country-style fried chicken with pancetta gravy, cauliflower-celery root gratin, peas and carrots, and chocolate chip bread pudding;

• Cider-brined and roasted turkey breast with herbed pan jus, broccolini with cheese sauce, classic stuffing and cranberry cupcake with cream cheese frosting;

• Beer batter fish ‘n’ parmesan garlic fries, creamed spinach, chipotle-corn on the cob and double chocolate brownie with rainbow sprinkles; and

• Spaghetti and meatballs with balsamic roasted tomato sauce, cheesy garlic bread, grilled baby artichokes and peaches with cream.

Three to five dishes will be offered each Tuesday at prices ranging from $22 to $30. Info: (480) 949-9000.
