I recently learned Stephanie Izard, one of seven contestants remaining on the Bravo TV show “Top Chef,” is an alumnus of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute.
The 31-year-old Stamford, Conn., native has won one quickfire and a pair of elimination challenges. Most recently, she kicked butt as the mayonnaise-making anchor in last week’s team relay event.
Before “Top Chef,” Izard was running her own restaurant, Scylla, in Chicago, the city that is playing host to the current season of the show.
Stephanie has her work cut out for her. Three of the four remaining guys — Richard, Andrew and Dale — were my picks after the first episode to make the final three, and all three still look very strong.
My pick to win it all? Richard, the chef from Atlanta.
“Top Chef” airs 10 p.m. Wednesdays on Bravo.
